has to offer your particular event please contact

page
How
experienced are the band at playing weddings and functions?
INNERVISION are one of the Souths leading
function bands, entertaining audiences with a wide range of
hits from the 70s, 80s and 90s right through to recent chart
material. The band was conceived specifically to play at weddings,
functions and parties and we now have over 10 years experience
in this field having played at most of the popular wedding
and function venues in the area. All our band members are
experienced musicians with a very good understanding of music
technology. This has allowed us to invest over £40,000
in some of the latest professional sound and lighting equipment
available. We regularly travel to most of the popular wedding
venues in Wiltshire, Hampshire, Dorset, Berkshire, Sussex
and Somerset, and will consider locations further a field
on enquiry. We are very aware of how important your wedding
or function is and the large amount of time and effort that
goes into organising them. We know that failing to turn up
or arriving late is not an option! Our reputation and reliability
are second to none, built on hard work and experience which
has made us one of the top function bands in the South.
How long has
the band been together for?
As a set of band members we get on particularly
well and and have always enjoyed playing together. All our
band members have previously played in similar function bands
and to avoid any chance of us disbanding suddenly, each band
member has committed to giving at least several months notice
before leaving the band. This allows us to complete any outstanding
contracts and gives us plenty of time to sort out replacement
personal if this situation occurs.
How long will
the band play for?
We normally play two one hour sets of live music
with a break between the two sets. In the event of the function
running late, we would initially reduce the length of our
break but may need to reduce the amount of live material played.
Of course the actual adjustment would depend on what time
the venue requires the live music to finish. As part of our
package we also provide background / interval music for the
break via our iPod from any era (including your own selection
of favourite songs if they can be provided either written
to a CD or as a playlist on an iPod or other MP3 player).
This is played over our superb Mackie P.A system and a good
part of the light show is also kept running to compliment
the music and help to keep the party atmosphere flowing. We
provide a full evening of music so you wont have to
deal with the extra expense and hassle of booking and fitting
in a disco as well! Our contract requires us to finish the
last live set by 12.30 am at the latest. If agreed when booking
iPod music can be left running until 1.00am .
Can we choose
how late the band or disco music finishes?
We are contracted to finish our last set by
12.30am at the latest and are usually happy to leave disco
music running afterwards whilst we pack away. However most
hotels and other venues will definitely have a predetermined
time when they will expect any live or amplified disco music
to finish by. Check with your venue and make sure they have
made you fully aware of their particular finish time. We can
then plan the live sets and disco music to fit around this
cut of point. If there is to be an evening buffet it also
makes sense to arrange the two live sets of live music around
this. Also check with the venue to see if they have any volume
limiting or timed power cut off equipment installed in their
function room. Sudden power failure to the whole of our sound
and lighting equipment in one go can cause serious damage
to it and lead to costly repair bills. It is also fairly disruptive
and embarrassing for your guests if everything suddenly stops...
just as they've plucked up the courage to fill the dance floor!
Do
we have any say in the songs that are played?
The short answer is No! Our live sets are made
up of a wide selection of chart songs from the 1970s
right though to recent chart hits. We know we'll never please
everybodys taste in music but weve chosen the
music we play to appeal to the wide range of age groups we
have encountered at weddings and functions. The new material
we update the live sets with is always chosen to fit this
criteria and is available to view on our website Playlist
page. We are often asked if we can learn and play a song
for a FirstDance at a wedding? Once again the
answer is unfortunately No! Unless it is a song that the band
already have in the set list. The first dance song is often
provided to us on an iPod and played over the PA system before
the start of the first or second set.
If
we or our guests approach the band to request a song at the
function can you play it?
Unfortunately we are not able to play any requests
on the night of your function unless they are songs which
are already on our current playlist, which can be found on
the website Playlist page. Due
to the high standard to which the band practice all the songs
before playing them live, we do not like to lower the quality
of our performance at your function with any impromptu versions
of songs that may be requested by your guests on the night.
The music we play has been carefully chosen to appeal to the
wide range of age groups that we encounter at most functions
and weddings, and it has always gone down very well at all
the functions we have played.
How long do you
need to set up and take down your equipment?
We require a minimum of an hour to set up the
sound and lighting equipment which includes erecting a light
reflective backdrop behind the band as part of the light show
as well as carrying out a full sound check. A similar time
is needed to pack away. This can often depend on how good
the access to the stage area is at your venue. Please let
us know in advance if you think we may have trouble due to
lack of parking facilities, muddy fields, staircases, very
narrow corridors or guests who may have no other room to go
to whilst we set up. If we have been warned about the access
we can at least make arrangements to arrive earlier and still
be set up on time. To power the sound and lighting equipment
we require a minimum of two separate 13amp sockets wired separate
to the supply and capable of delivering a total of 26amps.
Multiway extension leads can normally only supply a total
of 13amps even though they have multiple sockets. A normal
twin socket connected to a ring main is suitable. Power supplies
for outdoor venues need to be properly weather proofed and
connected via earth leakage circuit breakers (RCDs). In all
cases, the power outlets that the band plug into should be
within 3 metres of the stage area.
Can
you set up earlier in the day before the guests arrive at
the venue?
If your function is on a Saturday we can normally
arrange to set up earlier in the day. However this needs
to be discussed with the band when booking as it will
increase our fee depending on time and distance we need to
travel to the venue and how early we will be expected to arrive.
Our standard arrival time is usually any time after 5.30pm.
How much space do the band need to set up in?
As a guide the band generally like a space approx.
6.5 metres wide x 3.5 metres deep. However we are aware that
in some venues finding this sort of space can be a problem.
We have always in the first instance made an effort to fit
in with whatever space has been allocated, however at times
this can mean reducing the amount of equipment we can use
which could compromise the effectiveness of the sound and
lighting system. Please make enquiries at your venue to ensure
they can accommodate a five piece band and if in doubt about
the space, please give us a call for our advice. Unfortunately
out of practicality the band do reserve the right to refuse
to play at a venue if space has not been left to physically
fit in the five band members and their necessary equipment.
However this has never happened as yet.
Do we have any
say in how loud the band is?
The Band will need to carry out a full sound
check which allows us to adjust the mix of instruments and
vocals to get the best sound and volume level for the acoustics
of your venue. This requires us to run through a few songs
until we are happy with our out front and stage monitoring
sound. Your comments are welcome at this stage however the
Band are very experienced at creating the right sound and
volume for many different types of venue. For instance what
may initially sound loud in an empty room can become far too
quiet once it has been filled with people talking. The band's
overall sound is difficult to alter once we have started.
If you really think we need to alter the sound during our
performance please wait for a break between songs and approach
a band member.
Are we allowed
to use a microphone?
We will allow a responsible person use of a
microphone to make an announcement or speech. Please arrange
this with one of the band members on the night as they will
also need to be present to adjust volume and effects levels
whilst the microphone is being used.
Do you allow
people on stage with you?
On occasion we do have members of the audience,
usually from the younger age groups up on stage to bang a
tambourine or sing a chorus or two from something in the set
list. However due to the terms of our insurance and the expensive
and technical nature of the equipment we use, members of the
audience are not allowed to use the bands instruments and
we reserve the right to refuse anyone access to the stage
area at any time particularly during our performance times.
The stage will be covered with valuable equipment / foot pedals
and quite a maze of electrical wiring for both the sound and
lighting system.
Does the band
have Public Liability Insurance
Innervision carry Public Liability Insurance
to the value of £5Million. Some venues request a copy
of the insurance certificate which we are happy to provide
on request.
Do the band need
somewhere to change, refreshments, food etc?
All of the band members bring a set of clothes
to change into whilst performing, we also on occasion need
somewhere to stay whilst we are waiting to start. Therefore
we will need a secure room to change in and store any valuables.
Please do not point out the nearest toilet for us to change
in. You are under no obligation to provide food or drink for
the band (However any refreshments offered will be gratefully
received )
Is
there anywhere we can see the band performing live.
Yes! However this can prove difficult if you
want to see the band while they are working! We can only invite
you into public venues to see us playing live and unfortunately
due to the large number of wedding reception, function and
private party work were involved with these dates tend
to be very infrequent.
Alternatively on a more regular basis we are
happy for you to come and meet the band on a Tuesday evening
in our rehearsal studio near Old Sarum about 1 mile north
of Salisbury. Please feel free to bring friends or relatives
with you. Although we wont have our full equipment set
up we will have the majority of the P.A system working. This
will give you a chance to listen to us run through a few songs
from the current play list and talk to us about any requirements
you may have. We wont expect a decision on the night,
please feel free to go away and think things over. If you
would like to come to a rehearsal please give us a call first.
We can then tell you when the next rehearsal is, what time
to arrive as well as sending you directions on how to get
there.
Do you confirm
bookings with a contract?
Once you have confirmed that you would like
to book the band we will send you our contract/confirmation
of booking sheet. All you will need to do is sign both copies,
keep one for your own reference and send the other copy back
to us with a small deposit. Once we receive this, your date
will be secured and the remainder of the fee will not be due
until the night of the function. We will contact you again
nearer to the date of your wedding or function to confirm
our arrival time and check if any of your requirements have
changed.
Having
booked the band can we cancel at a later date?
You can cancel your booking with the band at
a later date however we would advice you to give us as much
notice as possible. Your initial deposit is a non-refundable
amount which the band will keep to cover the paperwork and
time taken in initially arranging your booking.
Unfortunately if you do cancel your booking within one month
of the date of the performance, the band will expect a payment
from you of half of the remaining fee as agreed within the
terms of the contract you will have signed with us. As you
can imagine we may have rejected a number of bookings on your
particular date in favour of your confirmed booking which
creates a loss of earnings for the band if you then cancel.
We would always be prepared to discuss a special or unfortunate
situation. Our aim is to hopefully come to an amicable agreement
with you whilst also keeping the interests of the band in
mind.
What
happens if the band have to cancel?
In the unlikely event of this happening we would
inform you of this situation as soon as possible. This would
only occur due to serious illness or other situation beyond
our control. Our initial plan would be to provide you with
a replacement band or if necessary put you in touch with a
reputable live music agency who would be able to supply you
with a band for a similar cost. The type of act available
would obviously depend on how much notice we have at the time.
As a last resort we can supply our selection of Ipod disco
music played through the P.A. along with the band's lightshow
run as a Disco by a couple of band members. (As a note of
reassurance this type of problem has happened very rarely
if ever! over the past 10 years)
